BST®LYLON product refers to high performance PE fiber. It is also called ultra high molecular weight PE fiber, high strength high modulus PE fiber or high oriented PE fiber. Together with Carbon fiber and Aramid fiber, it is titled as one of the three major high-tech fibers in the world, which is mainly produced by DSM, Honeywell and Toyobo.
The production technology of UHMWPE fiber currently used includes dry spinning (Dyneema®) and wet spinning (Spectra®).
The production of BST®LYLON fiber is adopting the integrated spinning technology of “Fluid drying spinning→Hyper-heat stretch→Solvent recovery”. The technology requires moderate operation conditions, and can guarantee stable production and product quality, superior performance and especially its creep resistance, which excels those products by wet spinning.
Characteristics of LYLON Fiber
BST®LYLON fiber has excellent characteristics such as high strength, high modulus, low density, abrasion and impact resistance, reagent durability, high hydrophobic, biocompatibility and anti-UV, etc. The product also shows good characteristics in resistance to (sea) water, moisture, mildew, fatigue durability and long flexing life, etc.
